Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) — AI for Empowering Learning and Teaching Funding Programme
1. Must schools exhaust the funding within 2026?
No. The funding is available until August 31, 2028. However, schools should plan early to incorporate "Development of AI-empowered Education" into their School Development Plan (SDP) and Annual School Plan (ASP).
2. Can the HK$500,000 grant cover software subscription fees?
Yes. According to Annex 4 of the circular, eligible expenses include the purchase, subscription, or leasing of software, platforms, and school-based AI application solutions.
3. If a school already has VR equipment, can we still apply?
Yes. Schools can utilize the funding to upgrade or optimize existing facilities—for example, by introducing the Idea Lab AI teaching platform or implementing the GOPod - AI Quiz System to expand the scale of AI interactive teaching.
4. The circular requires implementation in "at least 3 subjects." How does the IF Interactive solution help?
Our "AI Immersive Learning & Teaching Space (AILS)" comes pre-loaded with over 3,000 sets of cross-curricular resources. It covers a wide range of subjects, including Languages, Science, History, and Arts, making it easy to meet and exceed the EDB’s requirements.
5. Are there strict spatial requirements for the VR CAVE?
Our VR CAVE solutions are highly flexible. Depending on the school environment, we can transform corners of libraries, activity rooms, or even standard classrooms into immersive learning hubs. We offer flexible installation options ranging from two to five surfaces (including the floor).
6. Why choose "Idea Lab + VR CAVE" as the core solution for the funding application?
Unlike standalone AI tools, Idea Lab + VR CAVE provides a safe, controlled, and immersive teaching environment. It transforms abstract AI technology into observable and interactive learning experiences. By combining an "Educational Support Platform" with an "Immersive Space," it is the most comprehensive solution currently on the market for AI teaching and the "AI Future Classroom" concept.
